It was peak COVID in NYC…

I told Nick I had something fun planned and led him to a Revel, rentable moped in NYC, kind of like the rentable scooters. He looked a little skeptical at first (rightfully so, lol), but he hopped on behind me anyway. We rode through the Upper West Side, the wind in our faces, both laughing way too loud. I showed him all my favorite spots: the rocks at Central Park, Hudson yards and cutie rooftops.

We ended up by the water just as the sun started to set. Sat on a bench and talked about everything and nothing. It wasn’t anything fancy, just one of those nights that felt easy and right from the start.

Now every time I see a Revel go by, I think about that first ride, and how somehow, that one random day in the city turned into a lifetime together
